Glad of the chance to break off the awkward conversation, Flowerpelt obliged. "I think you're trying to catch the fish as though it's a mouse or a vole, you're pouncing on it. Try sort of a scooping action, getting your paw underneath the fish and pulling it out of the water."

Starr nodded and obliged, brow furrowed. A fish flashed by and she tried again, this time flashing her paw out under it to hook it out rather than pounce over top and try and dig her claws in. She felt the tail flip up -- it was almost out of the water -- but she'd been too late; after a frantic moment the fish wriggled its tail out of her grip and shot off down the river.
"Almost had it!" she sighed, and sat back to try again. "I see what you mean, though, Flowerpelt; if I did it the way I had before it'd just jump down underneath me and swim off anyway."

Moonwhisker listen to the cats share fishing advice. She could fish, so she didn't really listen. She looked, the sun was starting to set. "Well, thanks for the fishing. I must be getting back to camp, theres stuff to attend to. And Starredmyst, I think you better be head back as well," she meowed. "Your father's very stressed right now, and I don't think we should add to his worries by you coming home late."

Starr tensed at the words; it wasn't visible from where Moonwhisker stood, but someone looking at her face could see how her eyes narrowed.
"Yes, Moonwhisker," she answered politely, but muttered under her breath, "Mousebrained fool. Always makes me look like a useless kit...I'll don't care how stressed he is, he still manages to embarrass me on a daily basis."

Flowerpelt nodded, picking up her fish. "Let's go."

With a sigh, Starr trailed after the other two, embarrassed by her obvious lack of fish.
