Longwhisker groaned, "Oh I heard about the badger attack from that pansy of an apprentice Ashpaw." Earlier that day when the apprentice had come to bring her a vole she had told her the entire story of the badger in that annoying high-pitched voice of hers.
"I seriously can't stand peppy apprentices."
Especially the ones with high-pitched voices, she thought to herself.

Patchstar, already starting off, glanced back at Longwhisker with a half shrug. "Don't recall the apprentice's name," he answered casually; "it may very well have been Ashpaw." Truth be told, he didn't really even remember who Ashpaw was. But he did remember her mentor...
Darksong.
The tom gave a slight shiver at the thought of the name, though he wasn't entirely sure why. Certainly, the fact that it was echoed by the voice and laugh of the cat who'd been haunting his mind didn't help...

Longwhisker thought she could sense a wave of uneasiness coming from her leader. What could possibly scare him about a young, over-eager apprentcie? Or maybe he's just nervous because there's a badger on Ivory Clan territory? She doubted it, a strong patrol of cats could easily fight off a badger, especially if Darksong had managed it by hiself.
"Is there something wrong, Patchstar?" She doubted Patchstar would tell her anything, but it was always worth asking. As an elder she often got board with long naps and apprentices checking her for ticks. Clan gossip was the only thing that kept her mind at ease, and kept her from missing the fresh sounds and scents of the forest. So any chance she got to possibly catch up on the latest news, she took it.

But, as predicted, Patchstar did not respond to Longwhisker's anxious question. He glanced back at her, eyes narrowed in annoyance.
"Of course not," he answered scornfully, and walked off wondering if he was really all that transparent.
OOc;{Yech bad post. Ah well.}

Longwhisker raised her eyebrows at her leader's strange behavior, but then shrugged it off. If he wants to be secretive let him. She then stood up and stretched the stiffnes from her limbs. Well I think I've been in the sun long enough, it's time I went back to the elder's den to see if anyone else has some good gossip. And with that she padded away.
((OOC: Do cats have eyebrows?))

OOc;{No. Or, well, I don't think so. But saying "raised a figurative eyebrow" gets kind of annoying so let's pretend they do. xD
{Unless you've got something you wanna do with the thread, I'm just gonna move it now.}
