"You're too young to understand, Angelkit." Snowdrift said, knowing that wouldn't be a good enough answer. She couldn't possibly tell them now. She tried to think of a way to make her kit begin to understand without telling her exactly why, "You see....you can never really fully trust anyone. You may think someone is trustworthy when you meet them, but you could be wrong." Snowdrift also knew it took one false impression to mess up your life.

Angelkit's eyes widened, "Oh, I get it!" Now she understood everything, her mother was just worried that there was an evil spy in ivory clan that wanted to kitnap them. "What if I find the spies?" Maybe if she found the her mother would let them go out into the forest? Angelkit wasn't sure, but she sure hoped so. Angelkit looked around camp suspicously, trying to find any catthat looked like they could be a spy. Finally a grey tabby tom with yellow eyes, who looked about the size of an apprentice, caught her eye. "That's him," she said confidently, "He is definately the spy."
Without warning the tiny kit leaped to try to tackle the suspicous looking cat. "Gotcha!" She yowled triumphantly as she ran into the surprised looking tom, "Mom, now that I caught the spy can we go and play in the forest?"
Ripplepaw had been heading to the fresh kill pile to get a piece of prey when the kit had tackled him. At first he glared angrily at Angelkit, but then he lightened up. She was only having fun, and who could blame her? He still remembered being a kit, and he knew it was not much fun being stuck in the nursury all day. "Angelkit, I don't think we need to worry about spies. But if you want to protect the camp from danger you know what you should do? You should let the medicine cat go get some food so her can help heal the clan." He didn't mind the kits having fun, but that didn't mean he wanted to play with them all day. After all, he needed a break after a day of gathering herbs.

Maskkit giggled and jumped over, boffing Angelkit playfully on the ear with one paw. "Silly! Patchstar wouldn't let spies into the Clan, would he, Mama?"
((grr, stupid sickness. *cough* can't concentrate, sorry))

"Of course not," Ripplapaw answered the question directed to wards Snowdrift warmly. "No one here needs to worry about spies." Patchstar is too paranoid to let anyone into the clan, let alone spies, he couldn't help thinking of the two cats their leader had chased away not too long ago. But he shook the thought away, Patchstar had only been working to protect the clan.
Angelkit was not convince by Ripplepaw's consolation, but with a kittish excitement she growled playfully, "If there are spies they'll have me to face!" She gave Ripplepaw an irritated glare as he let out a chuckle but sat back down. "Well, I never thought of spies as a laughing matter, but if you think it's funny that some cat could be telling someone else all our secrets, I suppose you are entitled to your opinion." Her voice was completely serious, too serious for a young cat. But before anyone could think anything of it she got back up to her paws. "Mom, now that they're aren't any spies can we go play in the forest? I promise I'll be careful?" The seriousness had faded from here eyes, and her voice was full of playful laughter, it was hard to believe that just a moment earlier she had been so serious.

Snowdrift shook her head as she saw Angelkit tackle Ripplepaw and say he was a spy. She was happy that Ripplepaw didn't get mad, "Sorry about that, Ripplepaw." She said, a bit embarrassed.
"The answer is still no, Angelkit, and that's that."

Angelkit was unsure weather she should argue more or just give up. She finally decided that she would let it go- for now. "Well then I'll just play in the river some more," she stated matter-of-factly. She walked back up to the river and narrowed her eyes playfully. She put her paw into the river, but this time instead of splashing her brothers she splashed the cold water at Ripplepaw, who had not quite gotten away yet. "Spy or not, you're still fun to splash."
Ripplepaw jumped in surprise as the cold water hit his grey pelt. He smiled sweetly at the kit, trying hard not to loose his patience. "You know, warriors don't go around splashing their clanmates." He hoped the comment would calm the excited kit down, but from the look on her face he highly doubted it.
