The Territory
IvoryClan cats consider themselves to own all land in the south part of the forest to the Great Water, and south of the Thunderpath; with the sole exception of Twolegplace, cats found trespassing on this land will be chased out. No cats live in the northern half of the forest, but IvoryClan has no need for such large territory and doesn't have enough cats to patrol the whole thing.
The Lay of the Land
On the whole, the climate of IvoryClan's land is not as severe as it might have been. It is a humid and rainy area; summers are warm but more sticky than truly hot, and there's rarely more than a light dusting of snow in the winter.
Camp
IvoryClan camp is set on the very edge of the sands, beyond which the land narrows to a thin strip underneath the sheer cliff. The dens themselves is set back into a series of caves into the cliff, which are the only parts that would last through a bad enough flood. The outside parts of camp -- Highrock, freshkill pile, etc. -- are guarded by a driftwood wall on the exposed side of the sands. A river runs through the center of camp, out of the medicine cat den, but outside of the medicine cat den it mixes with salt from the Great Water and is not drinkable.
The Sands
This land is open and mostly useless; for a good third of the year it is occupied by Twolegs during the day and has very little attraction. However, there's good fishing along its edge and it serves as good a meeting, sparring or training place as any. A short distance to the east of camp is a huge pile of driftwood, which with the help of some overhanging tree roots can be used as a shortcut to the forest.
The Forest
The primary hunting place aside from the Great Water, and a nice place to train apprentices. The river flows from beyond IvoryClan territory to a waterfall that goes down into the medicine cat den; it's drinkable, with a bit of extra fishing besides. Depending on whether or not the Great Water freezes over, cats don't really bother visiting much during leafbare -- what little can be gleaned from a winter forest isn't useful unless supplies are truly low.
Moonstone
The Moonstone Cave is located on a small islet in the northern part of the forest. It's not so much a cave as a hole in the ground; it's small and deep, and the claustrophobic air caused by the small, dark area where the Moonstone is proves to be as much a deterrent as distance would be for other Clans. Moonlight comes in through the same hole as cats go in by.
Thunderpath
Cars don't come here often during leafbare, but for the other three seasons it's definitely best avoided. Marks the western edge of Clan territory.
Twolegplace
These buildings are deserted from leafbare's first bite until the weather starts to warm up again. To the cats, the Twolegs who inhabit it are very much a nuisance: while they don't actively threaten the Clan, they seem to take the cats as a novelty part of the area and spend a lot of time watching them. It's unnerving, and tends to scare away prey. According to preference, a lot of cats will choose to become more nocturnal during the Twoleg season, and, because the Great Water has almost as many fish in leafbare as leafgreen, hunting is actually better in the winter, without Twolegs around.
Great Water
The southern-eastern border and primary food source for the Clan. Not drinkable! Will be covered by a thin skin of ice during the winter, but it doesn't freeze solid to such a distance that cats can't get at fish.
The Camp
[please note that this map is shown from a bird's eye view, not sort-of-between like the other map xD]
The dens of camp are set back into the cliff wall, and arranged according to safety and convenience. Everything else is set out on the sandbar in front of the caves. A river runs through the middle of camp.
Medicine Cat Den
More or less in the center of camp, the medicine cat den is second-to-largest of the dens currently in use. It was created by the waterfall-river that runs through the center of it. Though this water takes up a good part of the den, there's plenty of room for dry paws, and a few nests for sick cats are set on either side of the river. The herb stores are set back behind the waterfall; the den itself is connected directly to the nursery and elder's den.
Leader's Den
Largest of the dens currently in use. Connected to the elder's den and a bolt cave, but both connections are blocked off.
Apprentice Den
A wide, shallow den nearest the camp wall. Connected to a bolt cave and the nursery.
Warrior Den
Long, narrow and deep into the wall. Connected to a bolt cave.
Elder's Den
Set back behind the surface caves for safety. Connected to the leader's den (but blocked off), a bolt cave, and the medicine cat den.
Nursery
Set back behind the surface caves for safety. Connected to the apprentice den, a few bolt caves, and the medicine cat den.
Bolt Dens
Empty dens toward the back of the cave system, at a rather higher elevation than the ones in front. Officially they're kept clean and empty in case of a really bad flood, but no one really cares if you mess around in them or use them as shortcuts from one den to another.
Highrock
A tall stone in the center of the river. Used for official meetings and ceremonies and whatnot. (Occasionally used with the small stone next to it {the one under the 'H', heh} as stepping-stones so you don't have to get your paws wet going from one side of camp to the other.)
Freshkill Pile
Food is on the right side of camp, near the Highrock.
Camp Wall
A wall a good tail-length higher than most cats' heads, built up over time with driftwood, seaweed, and whatever building materials happened to be around. It's tougher than it sounds.
Sunning/Fishing Rocks
A handful of stones, larger but lower than Highrock, where cats hang around and socialize, sun themselves, or fish.
