"Sure," Silverdust answered immediately, but Risingdawn frowned and said at the same time, "What kind of secret?"

"Go away, Risingdawn," his sister ordered, then turned back to her friends. "You guys know you can trust me. I'll keep a secret."

"I'm not sure it's a secret we want to know," Riss interrupted suspiciously. Silv swatted him with her tail.

"I want to know it. I said go away if you don't want to hear it, Risingdawn."

The ginger tom sighed. "Fine, then. I'll be right over there where I can't hear. Just for you, Silv," he added sarcastically, and padded a few tail-lengths away.

"Right. Tell me the secret."

Rainclaw laughed as Rissingdawn walked away and sat a few tail lengths away. "Come back here," she said. Rippedheart was very cheery, a visit from his friends made him feel warm and fuzzy inside.
"You wanna tell them?"
"No,"
"Ok, well," Rainclaw said, turning to Rissingdawn and Silverdust. "There was a rouge her a second ago, he knew Darksong. Remember Darksong's father? Well turns out this rouge killed him after he was exiled! I don't think he wanted to pick trouble, but he did tell us that he killed Tornspirit," she said, taking a moment to breath.

Risingdawn shrugged as Rainclaw called him back and sat down again, this time within earshot (but out of reach of Silverdust's tail in case of further whacking). Silverdust leaned forward eagerly.

"There was a rouge her a second ago, he knew Darksong. Remember Darksong's father? Well turns out this rouge killed him after he was exiled! I don't think he wanted to pick trouble, but he did tell us that he killed Tornspirit."

Silv's eyes went wide. "A rogue?" she demanded, incredulous. "A rogue, on IvoryClan territory? And he killed Tornspirit? How -- why -- tell me everything --"

Risingdawn, however, went still and very serious. "A rogue," he echoed, interrupting his sister. "That's -- bad. We should -- we have to tell Patchstar about it."

This time Silv didn't bother with tails. She leapt directly onto her brother, bowling him over and pinning him onto the ground. "I told you not to listen if you didn't want to hear it!" the she-cat screeched. "A secret's a secret, Riss, you can't tell anybody! I'll knock you ears over tail, you little --"

"Get off of me, stupid furball --"

A brief tussle ensued; Silverdust let out a yowl as Riss bit down hard on her ear and she rolled off of him with an injured look. "Tattletale," she hissed, sticking her tongue out at him, but Risingdawn had already turned back to their friends.

"Why would you keep this a secret?" he demanded of them, voice concerned. "It's serious, guys, we can't not tell someone."

The brother and sister listened to the cat's argue, again.

A rogue, on IvoryClan territory? And he killed Tornspirit? How -- why -- tell me everything --"


"Yah, he said that after Tornspirit was exiled -I think we were kits, remember?- that he came to the rouge asking for him to kill him. He claims he didn't do anything wrong, but this is obviously murder!"


"It's serious, guys, we can't not tell someone."

"Yes we can, it's easy. You just keep your mouth shut and no one knows about it until it's important!" Rainclaw hissed, starting to feel sorry that she'd called him back.

"No Rainclaw, I agree with Riss, we should diffidently tell Patchstar, or Moonwhisker or someone,"

"Rippedheart! But we can't!" Rainclaw meowed, looking to Silverdust for some support.

"A secret's a secret," Silverdust chimed in agreement with an annoying singsong voice. She glared at Risingdawn. "I won't tell anyone. Rainclaw, you wanna help me hunt? I'm doing this dare..."

"Guys," Risingdawn broke in urgently, before Silv could change the subject, "I repeat, why is this supposed to be a secret? What's to keep us from just going and telling the Clan what we know. It's not like you've been -- having secret meetings with this guy, or something, right?"
