On the Surface
Build. Echopaw has always been slightly undersized, due to severe malnutrition as a kit. His tail is short and thick, and his ribs are always slightly visible no matter how much he eats. Abandoned in the forest mere days after his unfortunate birth, Echopaw has a shallow scar on his left shoulder from an encounter with a young fox. His face is slightly triangular in its general shape, and he has small ears.
Fur. Echopaw has short, black fur that's a bit thin. His skin doesn't show underneath, but he gets cold very easily. He's careful to keep it meticulously clean however, and it never loses its glossy sheen. He also has a white patch of fur on his chin.
Eyes. Echopaw's eyes seem to be his only redeeming quality - they are an icy blue they seems to frighten those who stare into them. If he ever manages to stare prey he is stalking in the eyes, it seems to freeze in terror.
Other. Echopaw's paw pads are brown and very thick, and do not get damaged easily. They are perfect for running across a thunderpath.
Personality. Born of loner parents who abandoned him in the forest day after his birth, Echopaw has always been filled with resentment towards them. If anyone underestimates him, he always thinks it's because no one knew who his parents were. He is generally very quiet, and, thought not an evil cat, doesn't go out of his way to make others happy. He is a hard worker, but doesn't go above an beyond or do anything to make himself stand out.
Hobbies and talents. Echopaw has the useful talent of walking with absolute silence without even trying. Due to this unconscious trait, Echopaw often scares those who he approaches.
Faults and dislikes. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with Echopaw will agree that there is something cold within, parhaps inherited from his loner parents, that undermines everything he does.

History.
An accidental birth from uncaring loner parents, Echopaw was left, nameless, in the forest to fend for himself. He had barely opened his eyes for the first time when the fox stumbled upon his tiny body. Starving it immediately attacked Echopaw's shoulder. He would have been killed if Moonwhisker hadn't been tracking the fox, and found him. She took piny on him and brought him back to camp to be treated and nursed. Even as a kit, however, he just seemed different. He didn't play with the other kits, and acted too mature for his age. He started talking and walking unusually early, though he always stayed abnormally small. As the time for his apprenticeship approached, he did not bounce and squeal like the other kits, but stayed calmly in the nursery, no more active than necessary. The worried the kit mothers, especially when the other kits complained that he scared them or stared at them too much. They hoped that he would perhaps become more normal after he was apprenticed...
