What'dIMiss?
Name. Silverdust
Warrior Name. Silverdust
Nicknames. Silv
Gender. Female
Age. Twenty-two moons
Birth Clan. IvoryClan
Past Clans. nada
Current Clan. IvoryClan
Rank. Warrior, and muchly disliked.

LookAtMeeee
Build. Silv is fairly average, smallish and lithe but more stocky than long-limbed. She's got kinda big ears and a short muzzle.
Fur. Silv is named, quite aptly, for her fur; it's a bright grey that gleams in the light, dusted with black Abyssinian-style, darkest along her back and in a tabby pattern around her lower legs. It's short and rough to the touch, but soft close to her skin. Totally waterproof, too.
Eyes. Pale blue; never changed a bit from the day she was born.
Other. Nothing much =3
Personality. "Quicksilver" is the word to describe Silverdust in more ways than just her fur. Mercurial in her ideas, determined to be unique, she's quick to dream and just as quick to try those dreams out. Adulthood has changed her none whatsoever; she's rather like the crazy aunt that shows up at the airport on your birthday with an incredibly strange present and a bottle of wine for the party. Impulsive, loud and loose-tongued, she's a bit of a nuisance but still an incredible amount of fun. Silv is the sort of cat you either immediately love or despise for her attitude. Cheery and excitable, she's not very respectful of her leader -- elders -- of kits or other warriors -- anyone who crosses her path -- well, you get the point, but she makes a steadfast sister and a loyal friend. Her bubbly outspoken personality and tendency to rudeness have caused her to fall a good bit out of the Clan's graces, but there's betting as to whether she even notices that the mice she eats are the skinniest and the boniest.
Hobbies and talents. Even though she seems like a thickhead sometimes, Silverdust is a good soul, and a good judge of others' souls to boot. She's imaginative and lives to have fun. She's cheerful to the point of obliviousness, and can't stand to see others moping; she's incredibly loyal to her friends and her blood, and isn't afraid to die for what she believes in. Despite certain clutzy tendencies, she's a hard worker and a very talented warrior.
Faults and dislikes. As mentioned before, Silv can be extremely disrespectful to other cats, often as not without even realizing what she's said. She's blunt and utterly tactless, with no appreciation for subtlety and a tendency to be overbearing, and her excited nature tends to make her irritating.

History.
Silverdust was born to a decent family in the Clan; bouncy and excitable, she caused no end of trouble in the nursery for herself, her brother, and both their friends just for the hey of it. Everyone knew then that she'd always be a nuisance, and once she caught on she was quite proud of the fact.
The real trouble started when Silv was apprenticed. Her mentor was a beautiful young she-cat by the name of Goldensun; a friend of the leader's mate, Silv's mother explained excitedly, and someone to look up to. Silverpaw was proud at first, and certainly Goldensun was a good warrior, but the more the mentor and apprentice got to know each other the more they came to dislike one another. Silverpaw thought disdainfully that Goldensun was shallow and stupid, where Goldensun came to the realization that Silverpaw was utterly devoid of tact or subtlety with no talent for -- or ability to be swayed by -- manipulation. It would have ended there had the Clan been a normal one, but Silverpaw was already falling out of favor then and Goldensun had an extraordinary talent for controlling others.
Silv's queen died during an outbreak of whitecough just before her kits' warrior ceremonies. If there was one thing in her life Silverdust could change, it would be this; she knows her mother had always been vaguely disappointed with her rambunctious ways and lack of desire to better herself in the Clan, and wishes that if nothing else Winterfoot could have been at the ceremony to see her crowning moment. But no -- the past can't be changed, and it's Riss, not Silv, that resents that fact.
Silverdust and Goldensun parted ways gratefully. Silv had her friends and her duties, which she took pride in even if they were harder than others', and had neither reason nor desire to meet with her former mentor again. Goldensun, however, had other ideas.
StarClan knows what Silv would have done had she known that Goldensun would take out her one-time student's insufferableness on that student's brother. Odds are she'd not have changed her behavior at all and found an alternate way to protect Risingdawn; even then she might have just hurt him more in trying. But the past is the past, and all it's changed is how closely Silverdust watches over her brother.
Put it bluntly -- Goldensun tried to seduce Risingdawn, and succeeded wonderfully. Then, after getting to know the perfectionistic tom, she turned him down and did her best to hurt him in the bargain, prodding at his insecurities in such a way that not only was he completely crushed, there was no uncertainty from her words as to why she'd done what she'd done -- she wanted to get back at Silverdust for the moons of mutual dislike. Nothing more and nothing less, and Silverdust was raring to kill her for it.
She didn't find out, though, not right away. Risingdawn had always been close to their father and turned to Amberheart first. The older tom was furious and the pair sought out Patchstar to right the wrong. All that resulted was a shouting match, Amberheart's expulsion from the Clan, and Riss and Silv's utter fall from grace into the dredges of Clan society.
The message was clear. Risingdawn begged Silverdust not to pursue the matter further, and reluctantly, she agreed. Goldensun lived on smugly and faded back into the background, and the two cats' lives passed on uneventfully after.
Since then.
Silverdust made a bet with a senior warrior that she could catch the most prey. Even with Risingdawn's help, she lost (and had to jump off sunningrocks singing a stupid song) but got to learn a secret in the bargain -- meeting up with Rainclaw and Rippedheart in the forest, she found out about the old rogue who's been haunting the territory.
Companionship.
Rainclaw - Silverdust's best friend from kithood and a close companion still.
Rippedheart - like Rainclaw, Silv grew up with Rippedheart. She's really a bit scornful of him, like she is all cats who'd rather be safe than sorry, but he's still one of her closest friends.
Risingdawn - Silv's brother. They've got the usual love-hate thing going on, but she knows she'd die for him and hopes he realizes it when he's being a jerk.
Snowsong - Silverdust has only met this cat once or twice, but she's well aware of the she-cat's relationship with her brother -- maybe even more aware than the mousebrain himself is. She's made her approval of Snowsong clear.
Enmity.
Patchstar - Well, he's not an enemy, he's her leader. But Silv doesn't care for him much. He's not nice to her, and she gets the worst end of things around camp between her attitude and Risingdawn's problems.
Otherwise known.
Moonwhisker - Silverdust doesn't really know the deputy, but if asked would say Moonwhisker's too tetchy and not much fun to hang around with.
Arcticpool - It's nothing short of a miracle that Silv hasn't hurt herself badly enough to need Arcticpool yet.
Secret - Silverdust only knows about this rogue by hearsay and rumor. Rainclaw told her about meeting the old tom in the forest, and Silverdust is dying to know the intrigue behind all this. She's promised to keep the tom's existence a secret (no pun intended) with Risingdawn and her two best friends.

IHateHer.
The ground was so cold and hard. It was leafbare now, and the grass was gone, long dead; frost bit into her soft pink paw pads, but she didn't move from her place beneath the oak tree, seated stone-still with her head bowed.
Winterfoot had always loved the forest. She'd never dared admit it to anyone but her family, but Silverdust knew -- had seen the uneasiness with which her queen had padded through the sliding clinging sand, the longing looks she gave the trees on the cliff above while trapped in camp, charged with the care of her little kits. The way she'd all but jumped for joy at the first chance to hunt again, breathe in the green scents and race the river to the edge of the territory.
Had Winterfoot known her daughter noticed these things? Probably not, Silverdust thought with a hint of bitterness. I always was her disappointment. She thought I'd never be a warrior, between my acting like a kit and Goldensun being a total jerk. If she could have seen me today...
The silver she-cat's breath caught and she moved at last, lowering her head to try and hide her sobs. A single tear dropped down onto her mother's grave. It had been such a proud day; she'd been so excited, loved the way the Clan chanted their names, the way she and her brother looked when they stood together on the Highrock before their leader. Winterfoot would have been proud.
Proud of Riss, and maybe even proud of me. If only for that one day.
"Well, aren't we a little kitten today."
The voice was one she knew well, and in an instant Silverdust had spun around, eyes narrowed. The pretty golden bengal was poised against the lip of the cliff behind her, a mocking smile hovering about the edges of her delicate muzzle. She wasn't that much older than her one-time apprentice, Silv thought now, eyes narrowed in a glare; she'd only been a warrior for a moon or so before Silverdust was assigned to her. She certainly hadn't taken the time to grow up.
"Crying, Silverpaw?" Goldensun taunted lightly, dark blue eyes glittering as she deliberately used the new warrior's younger name. "What, missing Mommy? I thought you were supposed to be a big girl --"
"Shut. Your. Mouth. I'm Silverdust now, Goldensun!"
The words were a snarl and Silv turned her back on the older cat, purely to keep Goldensun from seeing her tears. "Don't pretend you've got some kind of power over me, Goldensun. I don't wanna fight today."
For you, Mama.
But Goldensun's mother wasn't dead. She didn't give a care for anyone but her pretty self. She had the bit in her teeth and wasn't gonna let it go.
"Aww, how sweet. You don't want to fight. As if you could."
The claws whipped out of their sheaths and dug into the hard-packed earth.
For you, Mama, I won't fight.
"You know I can still best you nine days out of ten, Silverpaw. Don't kid yourself."
The sharp teeth grated as she clenched them, fighting to keep control of her tongue and her temper.
For you, Mama, I'll let them walk over me like you always wanted.
"I'm your superior at everything, Silverpaw. Hunting and fighting, words and mates. You've never been courted, have you, Silverpaw? Of course. You're only a baby warrior yet."
The shoulders shook, not with tears now, but in anger.
For you, Mama, I'll pretend I don't care what they say.
"What? Afraid to attack? Fine, then; I'll show you how it works."
The ivory claws dug into her pelt as the golden she-cat leapt. The world spun as she rolled onto her back, crushing the breath out of her tormentor, and pinned the she-cat to her mother's grave. The thin, fragile artery beneath her sharp teeth.
"For you, Mama," she whispered aloud, voice choked, "I'll let her live."
And she walked away then, and promised for real and true that she'd never let anything keep her from what she wanted, ever again.
