Darksong laid alone in the Warrior's Den. Mothflight was angry with him, for whatever reason. He drifted uneasily into sleep, and found himself again walking with StarClan. It was strange to him to have these dreams. He never heard anyone else in the clan speak of them. Either Darksong was the only one, or these dreams were to be kept secret. He found himself padding slowly through the forest. He kept glancing around behind every tree and shrub, expecting Tornspirit to come out at any moment. Suddenly, the scent of another cat came over him. It was familiar, but.... The other cat made itself visible. It was a small tortoise-shell and white she-cat. She had the same amber eyes as Darksong. He stood, staring in disbelief; it was his mother, Pantherheart. She had died only moments after his birth, but he was still sure it was her. "Darksong," She said, "StarClan has an important task for you.""Why me? Why not someone else?" Darksong asked, "Why am I the only one with these dreams?!" He desperately wanted answers. "Many of the other cats have turned away from StarClan. None of us can reach them, and the clan is slowly falling apart." There was sadness in her eyes as she spoke, "You are the only one who can set things right."Darksong was baffled by her words. He couldn't think of anything to say. "Some of StarClan doubt you, so we have decided to give you a test." Pantherheart didn't mention who, figuring that Darksong could probably guess who, "There's a cat causing much trouble for Ivoryclan.""It's Secret, isn't it?" He said. He knew his uncle was stealing prey from their territory, but wasn't sure if that was really enough to drive him out. "Yes. He's been doing his best to destroy the clan to get revenge.""He hasn't done anything horrible that I know of." Darksong knew StarClan would want him dead, but still didn't believe there was enough reason to. "Have you perhaps met Snowdrift's kits yet?" Pantherheart said, smirking. His eyes widened, "He fathered them?!" Darksong hadn't really thought much of the ditsy Queen's kits. He figured she 'forgot' who's they were, or something stupid like that. "Yes, and he is planning to steal them and turn them against the clan. Secret also is trying to get Ghost and Canary on his side. He must be stopped at all costs." Pantherheart warned him. She then turned and began padding away. Darksong opened his mouth to ask her something, but she was gone before he could say anything. He awoke with a start, finding himself back in the Warrior's den. It was very early in the morning. He must have made a lot of noise in his sleep, for a lot of cats were awake and staring at him. "What are you staring at?" He hissed and then turned over towards the wall of the den. {{ooc: someone can come in and bother him naow if they want }}

Starredmyst was awakened, rather rudely, by a kick to the side.
One moment she was fast asleep, having a vague but rather pleasant dream in which she was hunting with an extremely handsome tom (over whom she would later sigh and wish existed). The next, the mouse she'd pounced on turned into something with an enormous head, squirmed underneath her and slammed into her stomach.
The young she-cat jerked awake to find it was not a bizarre monster who had hit her, but a sleeping tom's foot. What was his name -- Darksong? Starr's eyes narrowed and she was about to do something particularly rude to wake him up, but then the dark tom started up himself and she backed rather quickly away. The tom didn't look like he was in a good mood.
"What are you staring at?" he hissed, turning away. Starr glared at his back, then waded past a few cats (who complained rather more loudly at her, seeing as she was young, nonviolent, and completely awake) to tap the tom with her tail.
"You know," she commented with a raised brow, "it's generally polite to apologize for waking cats up. Bad dreams or something?"
The tone was wry and slightly sympathetic, but there was a glimmer in the back of her eye. Starr was on the hunt for a nice bit of gossip.

Darksong was just lying there, not even trying to sleep. He didn't really want to speak with StarClan cats anymore. He did question whether or not the dreams were real, but something told him they were. That scared him.
Starredmyst's poking and questioning was unwelcomed by Darksong, "I'm generally not polite, if you hadn't noticed." He said, still facing the den wall.
The mention of the word 'dreams' made Darksong quiver a bit, "It's nothing you need to know about." He told her.

"I'm generally not polite, if you hadn't noticed." And, in response to her comment about his dream, "It's nothing you need to know about."
He wasn't even looking at her. Starr was tempted to prod the back of his neck, half out of annoyance and half out of curiosity to see if he'd bite her like everycat seemed to think, but she held in the urge. "Oh, I'd noticed," the grey she-cat remarked tartly. She sat down comfortably behind Darksong, now secure in her role as a keen she-cat ferreting out vital information. "You kicked me and woke me up, you know. The least you could do is tell me what on earth you were dreaming about -- I'll swear I won't repeat it if it makes you feel any better."

Darksong turned towards Starr. He didn't really want to tell her the details, but did want to ask her something. He was quite curious about if Pantherheart was right; was he the only one who had these dreams? "Have you ever had dreams where...." He stumbled, unsure if he should ask her or not, but quickly decided to just ask, "...where you see or speak to cats who hunt with Starclan?"

"Cats who hunt with StarClan?"
Starr's voice was half a scoff; she was trying hard to control her tongue out of fierce curiosity about this dream, but it was just such a stupid thing for a cat like Darksong to believe. "Of course not," she said with half a laugh, "but I do believe it's possible to have exceptionally clear dreams in which you think you do. I'm dying of curiosity now. Tell me."

Darksong chuckled at what she said. What she said couldn't explain his dream. He decided to mention another tidbit while shooting down her answer, "Ok then, explain how I my mother was in my dream when I don't even remember her? She died right after I was born, and I had no idea what she looked like." Well, he figured that he could figure out what she looked like, since he looked just like Tornspirit and Mothflight didn't.

Well, if he wanted to have her pull the bits and pieces out, she was game, Starr decided. The warrior lay down next to Darksong with a smirk.
"All right, I'll humor you. This she-cat, she was totally clear in your mind? Like no cat you'd ever seen before -- even when you were a kit, or in a blurry memory -- and crystal clear? She didn't, I don't know, change at all while the dream went on?"
The blue-grey she-cat frowned slightly, applying these thoughts to her own dream. Eurgh -- suddenly that handsome imaginary tom didn't seem all too attractive. As far as she could recall, he'd rather resembled her brother Darktalon.
That brought up another thought. "While I play along," she added, "I'm assuming you remember the dream in its entirety, and it more or less made sense."

Darksong could tell Starr didn't really believe him. It frustrated him a bit, but could he really blame her? He decided to answer her silly questions, "No, completely clear. I've never seen another cat like her except...." He paused for a moment, then continued, "....except that her eyes were just like mine."
"Yes, I do remember everything. I will not share it with you though, no matter how much you try to pry the information out of me." Darksong told her as he turned away from her and laid back down.

"Hmm." Starr shrugged, clearly still skeptical. "If you say so. I'm not entirely certain I can believe you, though, unless you explain the whole dream to me..." she hinted, but Darksong had already turned away.
"Oh, come on." Teasing, the she-cat walked around him and planted herself back in his sight, tailtip twitching. This kind of talk was the sort she most enjoyed. "I'm not going to stop annoying you until you tell me, Darksong," the leader's daughter informed him in a sort of singsong. "You might as well end your torture now and tell me about it. I'll have to kill myself out of pure unsatisfied curiosity if you don't."

"I really don't care if you believe me or not." Darksong said, although a small part of him did want someone to believe him. He pondered on speaking to Mothflight about it later. Surely his brother would believe him.....
Darksong stared menacingly into Starr's eyes when she padded over in front of him, "You can't torture me, but I bet I can torture you." He said with a smirk. She would most likely annoy him, yes, but he told himself he wouldn't tell her anything more about the dream. Darksong knew this would drive her nuts, and it pleased him.

Starredmyst considered Darksong's words.
"True," she admitted airily, after a moment, "you can, but I wouldn't go so far as to say a chatty she-cat sticking to your side like a burr for the next eternity doesn't count as torture for a cat like you. That's what I'm going to do, you know, and I'm going to, oh, butt into your every conversation and pester you whenever you're trying to get a break and interrupt every duty you've got..." She smiled sweetly, meeting Darksong's glare with an innocence so absolute it had to be fake. "It's tiring but I find it far more effective than subtlety, with more results. Wouldn't you agree?"

Darksong chuckled, then said; "That doesn't seem much different than what you already do." He noticed that Starr was a nosy she-cat, always needing to know all the gossip. He assumed it was because she was the leader's daughter, "You'll get bored fast pestering me all day. I've been stuck in camp because of a d**n badger attack, and my life is really quite boring. About the only entertainment I get is annoying Rainclaw." He said, smirking. Darksong then was quiet, realizing she would probably pester him about Rainclaw.

"Oh, it's hard to bore me," Starr retorted, which was a complete lie. More truthfully, she added, "I have fun digging up dirt on cats. Not that this is dirt, I swear I won't tell, but you're piqued my curiosity. And you woke me up."
It occurred to her suddenly that if she wanted, she could pull rank on Darksong and make him tell her; her father seemed to have a particular dislike for the black tom and would doubtless force him to say something. But that wouldn't be any fun, and anyway, he'd probably lie to get her out of his hair.
So instead, the long-furred she-cat latched like a leech onto her first opportunity to irritate Darksong. "Annoying Rainclaw, hmm?" she said sweetly. "Is she very much fun to annoy, Darksong? I've heard rumors about you and her around camp." That was sort of a lie -- there was a sort of current going around, but it wasn't outright gossip yet -- but Darksong didn't necessarily know that.

Darksong didn't believe the grey she-cat would keep a secret. Then again, the clan would need to know about it eventually. Much as he disliked the leader, Darksong would need to tell him about it. One thing he was worried about was if he told Patchstar he got the information from a dream. He would think he's crazy. Perhaps he could just say he ran into Secret and he talked about his plans. Then would Starr tattle on him? He decided to take a huge risk, and tell her about it.
Darksong stood up and stretched, then whispered; "Ok fine. I was told in my dream that there is a certain danger to the clan. I'll tell you the details if you come with me to investigate, and if you promise not to tell anyone. Especially not your father!" He hoped he could trust her.
He ignored her comment about Rainclaw on purpose, not wanting to talk about it. He began making his way over the cats to get out of the den, looking back to see if Starredmyst was going to follow.
