To say Purplekit was angry would be an exageration. He was mildly upset. An older cat had been in the nursery today. The warrior asked Purplekit about what he liked to do. This older tom was obviously very upset about the kit's dislike of playfighting and preference for hanging around his mother. Snowdrift then discouraged Purplekit from doing his 'normal activities', and insisted that he try playfighting with the other tom-kits.
NO
So here Purplekit was, sneaking off. Sure he was sneaking away from the nursery during the day in plain sight, but he didn't care. He wouldn't go back quietly. The young tom walked around camp aimlessly for a bit, not looking at anyone. Then, he spotted a pile of snow. It's soft white poofyness was unresistable. He hopped onto it. His small frame was engulfed all the way up to his chin.
Purplekit then climbed his way back out of the pile. He alughed as she shook the cold white powder from his fur. It really didn't take much to cheer him up, obviously.

Angelkit had been stuck in the nursery all day, and had no desire to stay cooped up in there with all of the queens and other kits. They were all so.. well, boring. That was okay though, she could find excitement outside of the nursery. She casually made her way toward the entrance, and then dashed out into camp. She looked around, nobody seemed to notice that she wasn't supposed to be out in camp. She put a smug expression on her face, she was way to proud of herself considering she had just gotten past a few queens who were watching a ton of kits.
She casually looked around. All of the warriors and apprentices would probably be discussing clan issues and hunting. Things that kits didn't know about. Well, she would just have to find someone who thought on her level. It didn't take her long to search out her brother, Purplekit, who had found himself a pile of snow to play with. She padded over and rolled her eyes at him. "You snuck out of the nursery to play with snow? Please, how boring is that?" Of course, she herself had snuck out of the nursery to talk to her brother who was playing with snow. But she didn't mention that. Besides, who else was she supposed to talk to out here? She didn't know any of the warriors or apprentices.

Purplekit was surprised and well, not happy to see his sister. He would have prefered to have been alone for a bit longer. He shrugged away that feeling, realizing that he probably would have freaked out and ran back to the nursery in about 5 seconds when he realized he knew no one.
He was used to Angelkit's attitude, so he said "It's better than all the older cats telling me what to do!" He shook the rest of the snow off his pelt, sure to get some on his sister.

Angelkit scoffed when pieces of wet snow hit her pelt, and then gave Purplekit a dirty look, but said nothing. "Well, if you really want to get back at those old cats, you should do something bad. Like sneak into the forest or something. I don't think playing in a pile of snow is going to show them that they shouldn't boss you around. Honestly Purplekit, think about it. 'Oh no, there goes that tiny Purple thing playing in snow again. What will we do.' See, doesn't make sense does it." This was probably one of the nicest things Angelkit had ever said to her brother or anyone else. In her own weird way she was actually trying to help him. Of course suggesting sneaking off into the forest probably wasn't the help Purplekit was looking for, but it was all she was planning on giving him.

Purplekit rolled his eyes, "I wasn't playing in the snow to make them mad, it was just a random erge. You know, I was walking by and just HAD to jump in...." He realized how stupid he sounded after he said that. Oh well. At the suggestion of running off to the forest, he said, "Well....I don't know about going off to the forest. I could get hurt. And mom would be really mad."

Angelkit rolled her eyes. Could her brother be any more of a goody goody? "Well first of all, normal cats don't get urges to jump into piles of snow. And second, you are such a pansy! It's not like you're going to get eaten by a tree. You're more likely to get eaten by that pile of snow you just dived into." It seemed to obvious to Angelkit, the warriors made him mad, so he should just go off and do something to make them mad. How could he not see it? Oh well, it wasn't her job to take care of her brother. If he wanted to be cooped up in camp getting yelled at by warriors, that was his choice.

Purplekit was quite annoyed by Angelkit's insults. "Well, fine then! Maybe I will go into the forest!" He then padded over to the camp wall. The pile of driftwood was rather daunting to a kit. He looked back at Angelkit. She would most likely make fun of him again if he didn't do it. So he leapt up on the pile, knocking a few little pieces of wood off. He glanced around quickly, checking if anyone had spotted him.
Seeing no one, he yelled to Angelkit, "Am I a pansy now?!"

Maybe I will go into the forest! Purplekit's defiant cry reached two pairs of ear, both of which flew into the air, erect with interest. The first was Rainkit. She had been sitting quietly outside the nursery, having just escaped from the nursery. Dawnflight had decided that all four of her kits and herself needed naps right now. Sheesh. Couldn't she see that they weren't tired? The others had grudgingly obliged, but Rainkit had instead waited until all four of her relatives had fallen into a peaceful sleep before creeping happily outside the nursery. But what was there to do? Rainkit jumped up, bouncing happily, at Purplekit's declaration. "Ooh, Purplekit, I wanna go! Can I come? Please???" Rainkit's blue eyes sparkled with excitement, her short tail wiggling hopefully. The other set of ears to hear his cry was Jaywing, who had just finally found a spot large enough to lie her enormously oversized body down for a rest. She had been about to plop down, surely quaking the ground with the force, and bruising her shoulder with her own weight, when her ears his pricked up on their own accord, listening to the adventurous kit's statement with interest. Oh, to be a kit again. Dropping the four mice she was carrying for her midday snack in her spot so she could find it again, Jaywing waddled comically towards the young kit, flab swinging back a forth with each step and dragging in the dust in some places. She glanced around to make sure no warriors were around before stopping about a tail-length away from the tom, allowing for her flab to swing forward slightly. Leaning over her belly, Jaywing's eyes gleamed with mischief as she whispered down to Purplekit. "What's this 'bout goin' into the fores', yung-un? I had plenny the a'venture there ma'self when I was younger...and a bit leaner s'well. " Jaywing chuckled at her own joke, her strange accent infusing even this light-hearted noise. Glancing around once more, Jaywing continued her whispered merriment. "Well, if'n yor hankerin' for an a'venture, might I suggest the rocky crop jus' ou' of the camp. Not three tail-lengths, I'd say. Jus' loads u' fun, there. Butterflies jus' love it, flutterin' about, flashin' them fancy wings o' theres. And tons uh' flowers, too, still in bloom, even now. Jaywing's eyes glowed, seemingly with memories. The truth was, she knew that the rocky outcrop a few feet from camp was completely safe, and perfectly visible. The kits wanted to have their little adventure, and no harm could come to them there. With a satisfied purr, Jaywing watched as Rainkit joined their little quest. Tapping the group of kits with a thick, heavy tail, Jaywing shoo'd them quickly towards the entrance. "Go on, you's three. Go be haven' yorselves a liddle a'venture. An' don' you worry, I'll distract Moonwhisker, she migh' see you if yor' not careful. An' make sure you tell me wha' you did when you return, which I recc'men should be by sunhigh. No need scarin' no cats." Flashing a wide grin, Jaywing called in her carrying, pleasant accent, "Oh, Moonwhisker, cou' you come here for a mo'? I swear I jus' brought five mice ova' here, but now I only see four? Di' one o' those 'prentices snitch one?" Waving her tail cheerfully but discreetly at the kits, Jaywing once again waddled strenuously back to her spot. Bunching up her muscles, Jaywing allowed her enormous paws to give way, and with an 'oof' of effort, she landed on a heavily padded shoulder. After a bit of squirming to get more comfortable, she began steadily munching her way through he snack, but already thinking about dinner. Jaywing's mind was also filled with warm recalling of her own kits, now happily grown. Oh, to be young again...[/blockquote]

"No." Purplekit said quickly to Rainkit. He was just about to hop down to the otherside of the driftwood pile when Jaywing began babbling at him. Purplekit couldn't help but stare at Jaywing. He had never seen her before, or even another cat like her. His right eye twitched in confusion after she walked off. He barely listened to what she said since he was so preoccupied with how she looked. Purplekit did hear a bit about butterflies, so he said, "Ermm.....it's winter so the butterflies are gone...." He was soooo confused he had no idea what to do with himself.

Though Purplekit seemed quite distracted, Rainkit was so bored that she was open to anything. "Purplekit, she said that we can go into the forest! Jaywing practically gave us permission! It can't get any better than this! She's even distracted Moonwhisker for us - c'mon, let's go before she comes back!" Rainkit gave an excited bounce, the essence of kit-like happiness. She felt some sort of a grandchild-ly affection for the mountainously fat elder, and now she had given them the perfect opportunity to go have fun. Rainkit poked Purplekit and Angelkit with her slender gray tail, eyes sparkling. "Let's go! She wasn't very close with these two kits from the other litter, but what better opportunity for them to have fun without getting caught would she ever get??

Paintedkit's gaze was firmly locked upon Rainkit. Through clenched teeth, he cursed quietly to himself that he had chosen a spot where his mother could see clearly without even realizing what he had done. His gaze shifted to her to make sure she was asleep, and then he silently padded out the entrance. He glanced back to make sure nobody had seen him, and then bounded up to Rainkit, Purplekit, and Angelkit. "Guys, wait! I want to come too!" he half whispered, half meowed as he bounded carefully over to them.

Rainkit giggled, a light, bubbly sound now slightly infused with nervousness as her glance continually darted towards Jaywing, who was still complaining loudly and longly at Moonwhisker. She wasn't even sure Moonwhisker was listening, but Rainkit was sure she would be distracted. Her happy, mischievous gaze widened ever so slightly to incorporate her older brother Paintedkit. Leaning over, Rainkit whispered, still giggling, in his ear, "We're sneaking out, into the forest! Jaywing told us a cool place where we can play - she didn't even try to stop us! And she's distracting Moonwhisker! Tell the others to get a move on - you're the leader!" Rainkit's final comment seemed slightly sarcastic, but her eyes were sincere and slightly admiring. Rainkit had always wished she was a natural born leader like her brother. No, instead she just had an insatiable love for fun. Bouncing happily, Rainkit swatted at her brother's tail, unable to keep still.

Purplekit was mad at first about the other kits following him, but then he just accepted it. He probably wouldn't have been brave enough to go without them anyway. "Alright then, let's go." He said, leaping down off the driftwood pile to the sand below. He then stood back and waited for the other kits, glancing around to be sure no one was watching.

Paintedkit nodded at Rainkit's explanation and request, and then he whisked toward Purplekit when he said they were going. "I don't think so, at least, not just yet." He ignored his sister swatting at his tail, and then dashed off silently to the nursery. "Guys," he hissed quietly when he poked his head into the den, "we're able to sneak out into the forest right now! Get your lazy bums out here! If you come out too late, follow Rainkit and my scent trail!" With that, he whisked around and dashed back to the others. "Alright, I told the others; now, they could either follow or sleep." He was desperately hiding his excitement and containing his energy for later.

Unable to contain her excitement any longer, Rainkit leaped ahead, attempting to take the lead. However, in the end, all she managed to do was trip over Angelkit's tail, and fall face first in the dirt. Rainkit just up immediately, and began licking her chest self-consciously. "Let's just go already! Rainkit mewled impatiently to Paintedkit. She had so much energy she didn't know what to do with it. Rainkit was just about ready to go battle a clan of badgers if they didn't leave soon. Watching the kits from her comfortably large spot, Jaywing was debating with herself. Shou' ah go help tho' kits ge' a move on, or'll they get to it on they own? Ah don' think they will...but to ge' up? Ugh... About thirty seconds later Jaywing finally made up her mind. Rolling precariously over onto her stomach, she slid drooping paws under her mountain of flab. Then, with an enormous, bone-shattering heave, Jaywing lifted herself strenuously from the ground. After a few moments of heavy panting, the oversized she-cat once again resumed her quest. Waddling over to the kits once again, she meowed in a carrying whisper, "If you's... Jaywing halted for a moment, counting their ever expanding adventure party. It seemed they were bringing the whole nursery with them. Jaywing never had been one for math, so she continued, still trying to count the kits. "If you's fou..fi...si..sev..if all you's kits don' go inta th' fores' righ' now I'll tell Moo'whisker on ya's, so get a move on!" Jaywing's words seemed rather harsh, but she had used a kindly, grandmotherly tone as she spoke them. Jaywing really just wanted the kits to go have their fun before someone caught them. You were only a kit once, after all. Jaywing began to turn around to clump heavily back to her spot, but one of her paws stepped in the drooping trail of skin leading from another, and she landed with an earth-shaking 'oof' at the kit's feet. Attempting to preserve her pride, Jaywing licked at her chest fur in a dignified sort of way and said assuredly to the kits, "Don' worry, ah' men' to do tha'. Ah like this spot bett'r, anyways. Go be have'n yor fun now! Jaywing waved the kits on with her tail before turning to rectify her current situation. But hey, if she stretched her neck, she just might be able to reach the fresh-kill pile from here.....[/blockquote]
