Darksong returned her hatful gaze and spat; "You can't ever be naive when it comes to rouges. Trust me, I know a lot about rouges." Well, it was true. His father was born a rouge, and his estranged uncle roamed around causing trouble constantly. "They're two faced back stabbers.....at least the ones I've known."

"You can't ever be naive when it comes to rouges. Trust me, I know a lot about rouges."
Rainclaw frowned She figured she'd got it into Darksong's fat head that no one could insult her brother except herself, and her mother. "Well, anyways, who was that cat? I haven't seen her around," she wondered aloud.

Darksong now did understand that he should try to keep his mouth shut about her brother. That would be hard for him, for he didn't care for Rippedheart. He soft and stupid like a kittypet.....but whatever...
"I have no idea. Hopefully a badger will find her and her soft kittypet fat so we won't see her again."

"I have no idea. Hopefully a badger will find her and her soft kittypet fat so we won't see her again."
Rainclaw laughed, "I don't think we'll be that lucky!" she meowed. "On the topic of rouges and kittypets..." she meowed, figuring that she would ask him if he knew about the strange cat that had approached her and her brother a few sunrises prior to today. She figured he would, sense the cat had seemed to know Darksong so well. "There was this tan colored cat that trespassed on our territory the other day. He mentioned you, you wouldn't happen to know him, would you?"

Darksong's heart sank at her words. Secret had been causing more trouble! Yet could he tell her about him? He decided to tell her the least amount he could to satisfy her curiousity, "It was probably Secret, my uncle."

"It was probably Secret, my uncle."
Rainclaw raised her eyebrows, "Really? Shouldn't he be a clan member then...?" she wondered aloud. Rainclaw loved gossip. But unlike others, Rainclaw kept gossip a secret until she had to use it against someone. Blackmail was one of her favorite words.

Darksong was surprised that Rainclaw was oblivious to the fact that BOTH of his parents weren't clanborn. "Wow, you don't know? My father was born a rouge. His mother tried to bring him and Secret to our clan as kits, but Secret wouldn't go." He explained, "And I thank StarClan for that. Trust me, you wouldn't want that freak in our clan."

"And I thank StarClan for that. Trust me, you wouldn't want that freak in our clan."
Rainclaw smiled, she was surprised that he was being so open with her. "I'll have to pry for more information later," she meowed, smiling. "Oh, new topic. Patchstar. Is it just me or has he gone mad?" she asked, being serious and funny at the same time. For the past few moons there had seemed to be something... odd about the old leader.

Darksong's pelt crawled a little bit at her question. "He's defiantly going mad, if he's not there yet. Seriously, what was up with him wanting to kill those young cats?" He admited that he didn't want them killed, even though his behavior suggested otherwise while it was going on. "They seemed harmless to me, and it wouldn't hurt to have a few more apprentices."

"They seemed harmless to me, and it wouldn't hurt to have a few more apprentices."
"I don't know....." She said, frowning. "As much as I hate loners and rouges, it seemed as though they had nowhere to go," she said. "Someone needs to stop him before he destroys the Clan. And I know Moonwhisker wouldn't do anything about him. She's like his freaking servant," the tabby meowed.

Darksong agreed with her, doubting in his head that he would be the one to stop Patchstar. StarClan had been speaking to him about it, yes, but it still wouldn't sink in, "Just think, if Patchstar would kill innocent rouge kits, what will he do to cats within the clan who anger him?!" At the mention of Moonwhisker, he said; "I'd hate if Patchstar died and she became leader. Things would either stay the same, or get worse." Overall, Darksong thought Ivoryclan was doomed.

Rainclaw nodded. "But then again, I think anyone would be better. Especially you," she regretted saying it the minute it left her mouth. She felt her cheeks grow hot. The more she tried to fight it the more it showed her affection. "Umm...." she said, trying to think of something intelligent to say.

The black tom's eyes widened at her words. He was surprised to hear a compliment, especially from Rainclaw. Darksong barely noticed as he padded over beside her, letting his pelt touch hers. He felt as though he wanted to tell her everything, from his terrible kithood to the dreams he'd been having recently. Yet he didn't say a thing about those, fearing her calling him crazy.
Darksong did finally decide to saying something, "Have you ever felt.....singled out? Like no one else has been through what you have, and they couldn't ever understand?"

Rainclaw watched Darksong approach her, half of her thought he was going to attack her. But he didn't. He brushed her flank with his. She smiled uncontrollably, and licked his ear.
"Have you ever felt.....singled out? Like no one else has been through what you have, and they couldn't ever understand?"
Rainclaw looked up at him, her eyes showing the slightest hint of sorrow. She frowned, "Yah..." she said, her voice trailing off at the memory. "I never knew my father. He died shortly after I was born. Carmeltail says it was a badger, stupid animals," she said. She didn't like to speak about her father, so it was strange that she even spoke of it.

Darksong was surprised to feel Rainclaw's warm tongue lick his ear. The feeling sent a shiver down his pelt. He sympathized with her story; "My mother died right after my brother and I were born. My father always blamed us for it, and was never pleasant or loving at all." Thinking about his father's behavior made him realize his own. He could not recall one time, besides today of course, when he had acted 'nice'. The thought of being just like his father scared Darksong, yet he felt there was really nothing he could do about it.
