Pallid lobes slightly flicked at the gray tabby tom's question, and then emotionless and slightly quiet vocal chords began to work. "Er, yes. Echopaw's wounded quite a bit from some.. accidentally rough training..." With that, she turned her back to him and padded swiftly to the entrance of Camp; she knew he'd trail after her, so she didn't glance back and slightly dashed toward the clearing where she and the dark apprentice had been training, her paw-steps creating no sound whatsoever. She soon reached the clearing, and her gaze scanned it, looking for her apprentice.

As soon as Echopaw was sure Snowsong could not hear him, he had lay down and let out a long, quiet moan in pain. His collision had hurt much more than he'd let on, and had only hid his pain by not making eye contact with Snowsong. Now he let the majority of his agony come to the surface, and he cried out in pain. Somewhere deep inside him he knew it really wasn't bad at all, but he had just barely left the nursery. Echopaw wasn't ready to part with crying out with every little prick or pain. He hadn't yet developed the inner toughness needed to deal with this type of thing. All to soon a breeze wafted Snowsong's distinctive, minty and earthy scent towards him, and he immediately pushed himself upright. He cut off his immature moaning long before he could have been heard, but he still had a slightly sheepish look on his small, still kit-sized face as Snowsong dashed into the clearing. Figuring he should show some sort of respect for his mentor, Echopaw raised his tail slightly in greeting instead of completely ignoring her. Snowsong looked quite stressed for some reason, so Echopaw stood up, not even allowing himself to wince, to prove that she didn't need to worry. The small black tom had a feeling that his mentor sort of blamed herself for his minor injuries. He tried to blink in a reassuring manor, proving that he was fine.

Ripplepaw wanted to ask what 'accidentally rough training' was, and wondered if Snowsong felt as if she were to blame for whatever had happened to Echopaw. But before he could respond Snowsong was padding away, and so he followed. He found himself being led swiftly away from camp and eventually into a a clearing, where Snowsong stopped. As his gaze fell upon Echopaw he rushed over to the wounded apprentice. "What happened exactly?" He quickly led his nose over Echopaw, using it to find any off smells and what the extent of his injuries were. It didn't seem too horrible, but Echopaw was still pretty young, and a medicine cat could never be too careful.

The alabaster warrior couldn't help but allow her stress to slightly seep away as her apprentice lifted his tail, stood up, and blinked; it reassured her that he was alright. Well, mostly. When th gray tabby asked what had occurred, she hesitated for a moment before slightly parting her jaws to explain. "Well... Echopaw and I were training our battle techniques. Since he and I launched ourselves at each other at the same time, I knew he'd be injured, and so I attempted to dodge him. I halfway failed, but in the process, I noticed a tree too close, and I attempted to block the impact, which was only halfway successful. The impact and stabbing twig caused his wounds." She couldn't help but continue to feel guilty; if she had chosen a larger spot to train, tis may not have occurred. Heaving an extremely faint sigh, the pallid warrior padded over to the apprentice and medicine cat.
As she paused a few tail-lengths away, her gaze rested upon the gray tabby, carrying a message: "He should be alright, correct?" Her gaze soon averted to the darker apprentice, and she slightly flicked her ears in a question of his well-being. She continued to feel to guilt puncturing her when she scanned his wounds more carefully, and then she turned her back halfway to them, a slight tail flick intended to tell her apprentice of her apology.

Ripplepaw nodded and turned his focus back to the wounds. They weren't too horrible. Nothing a short trip to the medicine's cat den wouldn't fix. If Echopaw could make it to the medicine cat's den. His injuries had the potential to prevent that. Of course Ripplepaw could always go back and take Snowsong with him so the could just get the necessary herbs and bring them here. But Echopaw would need to get to camp somehow. An injured cat sleeping in the forest alone wasn't exactly a good thing. "Do you think you can make it back to camp?" He finally asked Echopaw after figuring out in his head all the necessary herbs it would take to fix him up. He also made a mental not to somehow sneak into conversation something about how it wasn't Snowsong's fault. She seemed to be feeling guilty, and that last thing the clan needed was warriors thinking that they were to blame for wounds inflicted upon their apprentices when they weren't. Or at least it didn't sound like she was responsible.

Echopaw! Echopaw act of seeming fine was put to shame by his relief when Ripplepaw looked him over. It was nice to be put in experienced hands, those who he knew would not judge him, just try to help. Echopaw decided to let Snowsong do the explaining of what had happened, as he was not exactly sure himself what exactly they had done. His gratefulness towards his mentor soon turned to outrage, however, as he once again saw worry in his mentor's eyes. Any other mentor would have probably seen through his patheticness and told him to deal with it and come back to training. No, once again his was left with pity. Echopaw glared defiantly into Snowsong's worried gaze, all of his anger showing through. How could he make her understand?
Then she flicked her tail in apology, and Echopaw wasn't really sure what to make of it. What was an apology? It certainly wasn't pity. It was more like treating him as an equal. With a sigh, Echopaw turned away from Snowsong back to Ripplepaw, but not before allowing her to see his own apology in his eyes for his rash anger. This reprieve did not last long. At Ripplepaw's innocent words, Echopaw leaped up, claws extended, digging them into the earth to stop from clawing at his face. Can I MAKE IT? [can we curse on here? It says we can in the rules, but...]-INSERT SWEAR WORD OF CHOICE-, I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! Without providing any further explanation, Echopaw raced into the forest, ignoring the lessening but still searing pain of his scrapes. Echopaw just couldn't take this anymore. Why did they have to treat him differently from everyone else? It was clear that he wasn't badly injured, so why did they have to treat him like he was so fragile that was was going to break at any moment? And why wouldn't Snowsong act like a normal mentor and show some authority instead of being all motherly. Raking razor sharp claws over the bark of the nearest tree, Echopaw once again yowled ever profane word he knew, trying desperately to escape from who he was. [/blockquote] [OOC: Yeah the thing at the top. yeah I'm gonna start doing this now cause of my crazy amount of characters, and cause its fun. Well, at least til I get tired of it. meppers don't laugh at me.]

Snowsong was nearly taken aback by Echopaw's fury within his orbs as he glared defiantly at her. When he turned around to face Ripplepaw, she caught the apology within his gaze, and she felt slightly better. But,that didn't last long. She stiffened as the medicine cat questioned her apprentice if he could make it back to camp. What was he thinking? She knew her apprentice didn't want to go back to Camp looking like that, and she was certain that he would make it back to Camp as if nothing hurt him. But, the split second before she was about to part her jaws to speak, her apprentice had jolted to his paws, and then bolted into the forest.
Heaving a faint sigh, she padded past the medicine cat. She then dashed after her apprentice's scent trail. "Echopaw, get your tail gait over here. If you're going to get harmed even more, don't think I'll be as kind as I was." Her tone didn't show any emotion at all, it was like pure stone. She slightly scoffed as her orbs scanned the area, and her emotions and 'kindness' began to seal up. Could she explain to him that it was due to her past that she was attempting to be kind? Could she tell him that she wanted to see what it was like to be motherly and responsible and he would understand? She doubted it.
Biting it back, her alabaster figure continued to become a slight blur as she swiftly trailed after her apprentice. "Echopaw, get. over. here." Her tone remained the same, except there was more command within its depths.

Ripplepaw's calm eyes widened in surprise as Echopaw howled out his anger. He honestly had no clue what had made him so angry. Despite all of the herbs and poultices and medicine cat tricks Ripplepaw knew, he could not help but be young and naive. "Um...sorry?" The words came to late, not that he thought they would help anything, but before he could open his mouth Echopaw had dashed out of the clearing and into the forest. He turned his eyes on Snowsong, giving her a 'what the hell just happened?' face. Too late, she didn't seen and went off following Echopaw's scent trail, leaving Ripplepaw alone to ponder what he had done wrong. But it was no use, Ripplepaw was honestly clueless. So much for moons of medicine cat training. Slowly he followed the scent trails of Snowsong and Echopaw. One thing he was sure of was that he couldn't treat a missing patient. Temporarily he considered heading back to camp and getting out the nessecary herbs while he waited for Snowsong and Echopaw to return. No, he decided, he would go and find Echopaw and Snowsong, and then go get the herbs. But he wouldn't make Echopaw go back to camp, unless he wanted to. That much he was sure of.

Echopaw felt a grim satisfaction as his mentor finally resorted to using her more commanding side. However, his defiant, raging side still won over and, standing solidly in his position, he yowled back defiantly, "NO!" He felt a little kittish, and almost as immature as if he had stomped his paw. Still angry tears burned in ice blue eyes at Ripplepaw's tactless and offensive words. His mentor was going to have to try a bit harder if she was going to get him to move. [/blockquote] [[crappy]]

Alabaster lobes slightly flicked at the dark apprentice's defiant no. "Echopaw, I am not playing games. Get your tail gait over here, before you tick me off." Her tone became cold and slightly bitter, as well as more commanding. "If you don't want to be serving the elders for a half a moon while I walk in and only state to you the things you should do in a hunt or battle and allow you to die out of boredom, I suggest you get. over. here. now." Her expression lost all of the pain of her struggle of deciding to remain kind to know what it felt to take care of a younger one; kindness was no longer an option in her life. All it did was cause her to be humiliated, confused, and uncomfortable.
Scenting her apprentice more carefully, she launched herself several tail-lengths toward him. She cursed inwardly to herself as she landed upon a few twigs, snapping them immediately with her weight. Well, there went the attempt to get closer without getting noticed through the snow and undergrowth. Heaving a faint, nearly inaudible sigh, she began to pad in the direction of the source of her apprentice's scent, figuring that it was him.

Helping the elder's for a moon? It was with Longwhisker's angry face in mind that Echopaw padded back towards his mentor, still fuming. Standing stiffly with the fur along the ridge of his spine raised, Echopaw snarled, "How can I make you understand? I don't want your sympathy. I don't want your pity! And I swear to StarClan I will attack anyone who ever underestimates me because of my size or because of who my parents were." By the end of his small speech Echopaw's curved claws had dug into the ground with anger, directing a good deal of hatred towards Ripplepaw. But there was one more thing he had to say, one more thing he had been considering. "I've been thinking, well, maybe cause my parents were rogues I wasn't supposed to be a clan cat. I know a lot of you have. I know what people say about me behind my back." Echopaw sneered. His tail twitched. "If you don't want me then maybe I should find my own way. I'm obviously an unsatisfactory apprentice." Echopaw's words seemed sat but the were infused with anger at every prejudice the everyone seemed to have against him. [OOC: I plan to keep Echopaw in IvoryClan as an apprentice, so yeah.] [/blockquote]

A faint smirk managed to creep onto the alabaster mentor's maw at her apprentice's speech. "Sympathy and pity? It was because of my past that I attempted to show it, but now, I've learned that it's not worth it. No sympathy and no pity it is; don't expect 'kindness' next time, understood?" Her tone, it sounded like a blizzard was within her soul, and her smirk soon dissipated. Her orbs, they seemed to harden to complete, unforgiving stones, and her expression was calm yet icy cold. "You shall be an unsatisfactory apprentice if you keep acting the fool; don't run away from your struggles. Face them with all you contain, even if it's not much. Act a fool like this, and even I, your mentor, shan't be proud of you." She then turned her back to him and took a silent paw-step forward. "Now, follow, unless you want to clean the elders' den for seven moon rises." With that, she began to pad back to the clearing where Ripplepaw was likely remaining in.

It was only the cold, icy tone that Snowsong had used that could finally force Echopaw to pad, defeated, back to the clearing. His paws dragged in the dirt, and his eyes were still smoldering with concelaed anger. However, he was finally able to control himself enough to slide his claws back into their sheaths. A slightly submissive scowl was visible on Echopaw's face as he padded up to his mentor and bowed his head in grudging respect. "Fine. I don't hurt anymore, Ripplepaw can leave." Echopaw was aching to add a scathing comment to the medicine cat apprentice, but he managed to hold his tongue. Now he knew what kind of mentor he was dealing with and figured he might as well not push his luck. But that didn't mean he was going to be too cooperative. Echopaw still refused to meet either cat's eyes, and he certainly wouldn't go back to camp with the younger cat. He sat almost unnaturally still, his tail wrapped neatly around his paws. If Snowsong wanted to continue their training, then she could go ahead. But as far as Echopaw was concerned, Ripplepaw could go fall off a cliff.

Ripplepaw was still unsure, which was clear in his bright eyes. For a moment he hesitated, he thought Echopaw needed some herbs to put on his scratched, but he didn't want to farther aggrivate the other apprentice. If Ripplepaw was older and wiser with more medicine cat expierience, he probably would've stayed and said, 'I don't care about your pride or your feelings or whatever else is wrong with you, you are injured and it is my job to heal you.' However, Ripplepaw was still young so he nodded his head, "Fine, I'll leave." If Ripplepaw had ever said anything or done anything that could be considered, it was in that moment. For his voice possessed a certain icy quality that was so extremely for Ripplepaw, who usually had such a friendly demeanor.

Gray orbs narrowed at her apprentice's statements. "If you want to continue training rather than go back to Camp looking like a fox attacked you, I suggest you allow Ripplepaw to cover your wounds," she meowed, her voice level quiet but her tone icy and commanding. Her orbs shot the medicine cat apprentice a glance that commanded him to tend to her apprentice, unless he desired to rid of the rest of her apprentice's first day of training. Really, at the moment, she could care less about her apprentice's wounds, but she didn't need to be accused of training her apprentice while he was wounded without getting the wounds tended to.
