Carmeltail burst out laughing. Her laugh was raspy and it sounded more like a cough then a laugh. She smiled, almost smirked back at Moonwhisker.
The deputy sighed, this was going to be difficult. "Dewkit is here, and she was asleep. And I haven't checked yet, but I was thinking of going to look. But I'd like to take a partol," she meowed.

Even though Darksong didn't like Moonwhisker, he jumped at the chance to leave camp. "I can go on patrol, if you need me." He would much rather search for lost kits then do the jobs apprentices were supposed to do.

Moonwhisker nodded, "That would be much appreciated." Although she wasn't very happy with Darksong's personality, at least he was a good fighter. They would need that if they ran into anything.... interesting.
Carmeltail rolled her eyes, "Kits, good for nothing..." she meowed, continuing to mumble about kits.

Silverdust skidded into the group, very nearly banging her nose into Carmeltail's, and sat down right in front of Moonwhisker. She was panting and her eyes were wide with fear.
"The kits are all gone! The queens ran off and Jaywing's panicking. Whaddo we do?"
She paused, and for the first time seemed to notice there were other cats there.
"Oh wait...didja already know?"

Darksong was going to complain about kits as well, but then Sliverdust skidded in. "Thank you for stating the obvious, Silv." He said sarcastically. "Moonwhisker was trying to get a patrol together to go find them." He told her, hoping she wouldn't want to come. He didn't know if he could stand both Moonwhisker and Silverdust.

Carmeltail yowled as she was pushed backwards by a young nose that hit her old nose. "Watch where your going you hyper spaz of a cat! I don't even know how my daughter is friendswithyou...." she meowed her voice decrescendoing every word, then continued to mumble random insults at the young cat.
Moonwhisker rolled her eyes at Darksong's comments and ignored Carmeltail. She smiled at Silverdust, "Yes, I was. Care to come?" she asked.

Silv stuck her tongue out at Darksong, grinning as though he'd complimented her, and totally ignored Carmeltail's long train of insults. Then again, considering Risingdawn, she probably had practice in ignoring that sort of thing.
"Ooh, yeah, ofcourseIwannacome!" she answered Moonwhisker, going from worried to excited in a flash. "I can carry some of the kits when we find 'em! Is it just the -- uh --" She paused, swiveling her head around to study the gathered cats, " -- the three of us then?"

Darksong shook his head and sighed heavily. His worst fear had come true. He didn't know how he was going to stand going on patrol with Patchstar's servant and the most annoying she-cat in the entire clan. "Shall we go get this over with then...?"

"Yes, all three of us," Moonwhisker meowed, attempting to keep some kind of peace between the three of them.
"Yes, lets go," She meowed, and was interrupted with a annoyed meow from everyone's favorite elder. "Fine, leave me here to rot."
Moonwhisker smiled weakly and led the way out of camp.

Silverdust bounded after Moonwhisker, practically on the cat's tail. She glanced back at Carmeltail's words and called back with sweet-voiced mischief, "Oh, you know we love you, Carmeltail!"

Darksong stayed behind for a moment to whisper to Carmeltail, "You're the lucky one." He chuckled a bit, then followed behind the two she-cats.
