I hail from the Gameware Forums, and we have a greeting used to *coughintimidatecough* warmly welcome our new members.

Hello and welcome to the CC ____! Please put your sanity in the skull-shaped basket by the door, remember to do this or else it'll leak out your ears (and that sanity sludge stains so horribly!) Run and get a grappling hook now if you ever plan on leaving, for the walls of the pit of insanity are steep and slippery, and an invisible bungee cord will eventually bring you back in any case. ^.^ Have a cookie a plishy and a very nice day!

And endless variations thereof.

Personally, I get bored easily and prefer this sort of ever-changing welcome (just about every time it's used it gets changed a bit, and in fact I don't think I've ever done it exactly the same as any time before).
So should we have an opening speech to give unto our new members? What do you think?

Huh. Yanno, I've never really thought of a welcome speech, forum-wise. Personally, I'm not all that fond of copy-paste welcomes and whatnot, but something like that might be fun. x3 I worry sometimes that new members feel kinda shy and don't know how to join in with things because there's not really a personal welcome...maybe we should do something like this.

But probably not by PM, because half the time nobody even realizes our PM system still exists. xDD I'll fix that at some point...any suggestions for HOW we should do something like this if we did?

Maybe when they first make their character's profile, whoever happens to be on at the time could pop in and give them the welcome?

Hmm, yeah, that might work...'course, what if they were waiting to even make their character profile?

I think I should do something about the PM stuff sometime soon. Maybe even do some layout tweaking, make things fancier and a little easier. But I dunno.

Sounds like a good idea. I don't think I even knew we had a PM thing, and it would definately be used more if people knew about it. Also, maybe we should be able to comment on each others accepted characters page, with comments on characters or something. Then it would be like each persons personal message board. I dunno random idea. OOC SPAMMMMMMMM. Yeah.
