Starr walked with Darksong out of camp; not following him, as might have been wise, but walking beside him. Her gold eyes were flaming but she kept her temper under tight rein as she scented the ground around the scene of Snowdrift's death.
She could still see the blood on the ground, and that more than anything else angered her. Snowdrift was dead. Patchstar hadn't even cared. How could she ever have supported him?
Calm down, she told herself, and took a deep breath. Despite her few duties, Starr was a talented warrior; when sufficiently provoked, she had the ability to shut out everything but the task in front of her, and did so now. It was crystal clear what she had to do now, and later -- well. It was really Darksong's call, what he did to Patchstar.
The young she-cat took another deep breath, scenting. Death was strong here, stronger than she'd ever smelled it before. She shut that thought out too. Also there, quickly fading, was the kits' trail; Starr assumed that the rest of the patrol, which had not returned with Darksong, was looking for them. It was easy enough from here to smell the rogues -- more than one, she thought -- and the blood trail that indicated their direction.
The she-cat started forward, then hesitated for the first time. She gave Darksong an unreadable look and stepped back, offering him the lead with a slightly ironic bow of her head. This was his patrol, after all.

Darksong was still fuming mad. He was both angry at Patchstar and angry at himself. It was true that the leader told him to deal with Secret. Why hadn't he? Darksong didn't even know. Then again, it didn't even seem to phase Patchstar that Snowdrift was dead and 4 of the kits could be too.
The ebony tom had decided now that he didn't care about Starredmyst coming with him. Since scenting the air proved that there was more than one rouge about, Darksong wasn't sure he could of handled this on his own. He was thankful it was Starredmyst with him, and not someone stupid like Moonwhisker or Silverdust.
She moved to get ahead of him for a moment, then, surprising to Darksong, she bowed to him and let him go before her. He shot her a confused glance then stepped ahead to follow the trail.
*******
Secret sat only a few foxlengths away from the twoleg place, just now tending to his blood stained paws. He was way too shaken and angry to have even thought he might of left a trail. He'd attempted tracking down Demon and the kits, but he couldn't keep himself focused. The old tom had pretty much given up and was going home.
That was not to say he wouldn't return later. Oh no. He would get those kits. They were his. Then, he'd kill Demon for getting in the way.

"Angry?" a voice sounded, mischief and evil contained within the tone.
A glint was in the silver orbs as the shadow himself broke from the shadows around Two-Leg Place. A sick smirk was plastered upon his lips, and his tail was held high in some kind of evil pride. His entire figure was clean of blood, showing no sign that he had ever murdered the queen.
"You know, if you want, we could fight, and I'll kill you to end your idiocy and frustration," he said harshly. Obviously, he was quite glad that he had the advantage against the elder tom.

The scent of rogue quickly grew strong as Starredmyst padded along after Darksong; no surprise, they were heading close to Twolegplace. For a moment the grey she-cat hoped the rogues were still on Clan territory, then banished the thought; she had a job to do and she wasn't going to let a little thing like boundaries stop her. Queen-killers were a menace to all cats -- doubtless everycat would be glad to see this monster dead.
She had nothing to fear, however; even as the looming Twoleg dens came in sight, she caught a fresh whiff of rogue and blood on the wind. The young warrior froze as a cold, amused voice came to her ears from not too far away.
"...kill you to end your idiocy and frustration."
Well, that was condemning as anything. Starredmyst stopped, glancing at Darksong -- she hoped he had a plan.

Darksong himself didn't really have a plan. When he heard a rouge speak from a distance, he stopped to listen. Their were obviously two of them; Secret, and another tom Darksong did not recognize. He motioned to Starredmyst to stay still. The ebony tom pricked his ears to listen in to the conversation between the rouges.
****
Secret stood up with a jolt, only half finished cleaning himself. He hissed angrily at Demon, but did not back away. He stood his ground, "I'd like to see you try, Demon!" Secret challenged angrily.
Yet a moment after he said it, he regretted it. The old tom was fully aware Demon was younger and much stronger than him. If all else failed, Secret decided, he didn't care if he died. He, however, wouldn't let Demon get out of this one unharmed.

His smirk grew. But, just as he was about to take a step forward to the challenging rogue, Clan cat scents reached his nostrils, causing him to freeze for a moment. He then felt as if everything was watching, listening. His smirk grew somewhat more. Perfect; time for lies.
"Oh, I don't need to try. I'll pummel you, even kill you. After all, that queen needs to be avenged. You're even after her kits, after you killed her." Oh, he just loved how he could lie and be sly. It was a wonderful feeling. And to be able to destroy in the process? Oh, just wonderful.
Invisibly, he coiled his muscles, making certain that the elder tom wasn't capable of spotting him preparing to lunge. He didn't want the tom to be able to get the advantage at all; the opponent wanted him dead, and so he returned that desire.
After a couple of heartbeats, his figure became a blur. He had propelled himself into the air, all of a sudden, aiming to barrel directly into the opponent, to knock the opponent down. That way, he would have the upper-hand, the advantage, and not his enemy.

Starredmyst nodded, briefly, when Darksong indicated for her to be silent; her own ears angled forwards, trying to catch the entire conversation.
"I'd like to see you try, Demon!"
"Oh, I don't need to try. I'll pummel you, even kill you. After all, that queen needs to be avenged. You're even after her kits, after you killed her."
A hot flash of fury beat through Starredmyst, defying her efforts to keep her temper under control. Those were the killers.
OOc;{Will post something more substantial after the fight starts -- Starr's waiting for Darksong to tell her to start it.}

Secret's eyes narrowed angrily at Demon's words. He was the one who killed Snowdrift, not Secret. Why was he saying that? Then the old rouge caught a whiff of Ivoryclan cats nearby. Demon was trying to frame him!
He quickly jumped to the side to avoid the dark tom's attack. He growled and aimed a bite at Demon's ear.
Darksong's mind was racing with different ideas as to what they should do. Should they just sit back and let these two toms kill each other? There was no fun or payback in that though. The ebony tom wanted to personally deal out revenge. Well, with Starredmyst's help of course.
He nodded to Starredmyst, signaling it was time to make their move. He then leaped out of the bushes and into view of the two rouges. Secret's paws still had blood on them, but the other tom was clean.
"Silly little Darksong, eh? What do you want?! I'm not the one who killed that idiotic cat!"
"Oh really then?" Darksong said, glancing down at Secret's paws, "By the way, I know you forced her to have your kits. Why then should I believe you wouldn't kill her?"
Secret just stood there, fuming and lost for words.

The ebony tom simply side-stepped to avoid the older tom's attack, a mischievous, evil smirk still plastered upon his lips. "Lost your energy from killing that queen?" A faint chuckle escaped his lips. "A foolish, old fool, you are.."
He was just about to attack, but then the black tom that wore the scent of IvoryClan emerged from the undergrowth with a leap. His muscles immediately relaxed, and he sat down onto his haunches. "Wanna try something funny now, old geezer?" It was too fun to watch the older tom, but he kept a straight face as he glanced at the Clan cats.
Though he was still ticked off at the Clan cats, even having that old hatred toward them return to boil, he kept himself from revealing any sign of threat. They could assist him with ridding the older tom, and it would mainly be his fault. Inwardly, he sneered, but his exterior refused to change.

Starredmyst followed Darksong out of hiding, her eyes narrowed and her lips just barely over her teeth. She held a tense crouch as the three toms spoke, ready to attack or defend at need.
It felt to her as though this was taking too long, meandering around the point. Starr had no interest in drama at the moment -- it didn't matter to her if the old tom had forced Snowdrift, if the two rogues had some fight going on between them. She just wanted justice dealt out, so that the bloody scene they had just walked past would leave her mind in peace.
So she was the first to make an aggressive move, slinking up between the two toms. She angled herself so that Demon could not move to protect or attack Secret, and glared directly into the older tom's green eyes.
"Personally," she hissed, "I really don't give a rat's behind what you've done to make these cats angry with you. I don't care if you have kits in the Clan. I see the blood on your paws and I want you dead. Kill him now, Darksong, or I'll do it myself."

Darksong was done playing around and delaying it. He pounced at Secret, knocking him flat on his back.
"You don't have the guts!" Secret taunted, coughing as Darksong's paw put pressure on his neck.
"Wanna bet?!" Darksong hissed threateningly.
Secret wriggled under the weight of Darksong. He was trying with all his might to break free from his grasp, but couldn't. Then, a realization hit him like a ton of bricks; he wasn't as strong as he used to be and Darksong could kill him easily.
That didn't mean he'd go down without a fight.
Darksong aimed a bite at Secret's exposed neck, but the old tom got a paw free and clawed at his head. The ebony tom released his grasp, yelping. Secret jumped back up onto his paws. Darksong circled his uncle, eyes narrowed. He crouched down, appearing as though he was going to pounce right back on Secret once again.
Yet he did not. He jumped right over the old tom then pounced again onto his back, digging sharp talons into Secret's orange pelt. Darksong bit deeply into Secret's neck, just like he would to a piece of prey. Secret thrashed and tried to break free.
Then, he relaxed and fell to the ground as warm blood poored freely out of his neck. Darksong released him and padded back over to Starredmyst. He watched Secret die slowly, getting a sort of sick satisfaction from it.
Secret convulsed and coughed up blood, vision slowly fading out. He glared at Demon before completely losing conciousness.

Knowing that the Clan cats would take care of the older tom, the ebony tom merely settled down, watching the scene of the short battle. Then, it ended with the blood of the orange tom dampening the Earth. Inwardly, he sneered. The smirk returned as the dying tom glared at him, and he felt satisfied.
As soon as Secret fell limp, Demon shifted back onto his paws. "Well done. Justice has been served." He kept a straight face, before twitching his lobes and turning his back to them. Oh, justice won't be served after a while, if at all.
Skillfully acting as if he were completely innocent, he began to take his leave. "Enjoy your victory." He flicked his tail at them, and then slipped stealthily back into the undergrowth. If they were to force him to pause and question him now, he may be in trouble, but he didn't allow himself to grow concerned. He had caused two deaths, and he calmed his blood lust.

Starredmyst was tensed, ready for a battle. She realized she wasn't ready for a scene of carnage when the blood began to fly.
Still, the rogue was behind her, and they owed Snowdrift this. The young warrior swallowed and forced herself to watch as Darksong tore Secret's throat out.
Then the other rogue spoke, as Secret fell to the ground, and she could look away from the morbid sight.
"Well done. Justice has been served."
The words put her hackles up; not because he was sarcastic -- his expression was perfectly straight -- but because he was a rogue, and he was congratulating them. Maybe it was a part of the black tom's attitude...but she would have been more comfortable if he had sneered, or attacked them, instead of just...walking away. Rogues were supposed to hate Clan cats...
Starr watched, eyes narrowed, as the rogue slipped away through the forest. "We need to watch for him," she told Darksong quietly. "Even if this Secret was the one who killed Snowdrift, I don't trust how quiet he was about this. Cats that don't complain are usually planning..."
She shook her head, putting the thought out of the way for the time being, and glanced once more at Secret's body. It wasn't so bad now that he'd still moving; still, seeing all the blood made her feel a little sick. She took a deep breath and forced herself to look away, at Darksong.
"What are we going to do with...him?"

Darksong felt like he was in a dream. He never would of imagined he'd be the one to kill Secret. Even though the ebony tom knew it was the right thing for everyone to kill him, he still felt horrible for killing his uncle. He spilled his own blood.
The other rouge's words and actions confused Darksong. He agreed with Starredmyst, "Yes, we defiantly need to watch for him. Something wasn't right there...."
Then at the mention of Secret's body, the ebony tom figured he'd have to be the one to take care of it once again, "I'll take care of it...." He said, then added, "....alone." He hoisted the old tom's bloody carcass onto his back and began padding away.
Before he was out of sight, he added, "Go ahead back....I'll be there in a bit."

Starr hesitated as Darksong began to walk away. She didn't care for the tom on a personal basis, but -- at the same time, she didn't like to see that kind of look in anycat's eyes. Was it...regret? She couldn't fathom why he would regret killing such a foul cat, but at the same time wished he hadn't asked her to leave. Sometimes just being with another cat could help...
But he had. Starredmyst nodded and stared resolutely at the blood on the ground, until the unpleasant idea of following Secret's body overpowered that of following Darksong, then headed home.
She realized as she walked away that there was bound to be some kind of confrontation coming up. Her anger with her father was beginning to fade, and she remembered Darksong's odd expression. If something broke out tonight...could she handle it?
