Darksong was glad Starredmyst listened to him. He had hoped she wouldn't be head-strong enough to come with him. In this case, company would of made it worse. He would of had to explain the way he felt. There was no way anyone else could possibly fathom it.
Most would think it was a good thing, to kill Secret. Deep down though, the old tabby was his own flesh and blood. They weren't so different. Secret just took his anger too far. Is the 'eye for an eye' justice system right? There were now two cats dead instead of just one. Was Darksong justified in his actions?
The ebony tom himself was unsure about all of this. It seemed as though this day was changing everything in his life, and his perspective on it. Then again, it wasn't just today. It was back many moons ago when StarClan spoke to him, when they said Darksong was to be the one to change the clan.
He hadn't wanted to be the one, but he had no choice. Darksong couldn't bear to sit back and let Patchstar's negligence continue. It surprised him that no one else in the clan was taking a stand besides him. Well, he supposed Starredmyst was, but was she really on his side? He couldn't be sure.
Darksong ended up wandering to a small clearing in the forest. It was very close to the twoleg place, but still not all that far from clan camp. This place was filled with memories for him. This was where Tornspirit used to take Darksong and Mothflight to visit Secret. The visits were rarely pleasant, but it still felt good to have a family.
Thus he set Secret's bloodied body down and began digging. He would bury his uncle here. No one from the clan or out of the rouges and loner would know of this place. Secret could rest here and not be bothered.
Darksong placed the body in the quickly dug hole and buried it back over. He made a swift prayer to StarClan, then turned away and headed for camp. In a sense, he felt as though his past stayed back there with Secret. All the troubles with Tornspirit and Mothflight, his alienation within the clan, and of course his former apathetic nature.
All of it was ending tonight.
