.&&. it's not any love story, it's ours.
the story of romeo and juliet..
is our love there yet?
is our love there yet?
.&&. background.
A Clan, its name long smothered and unknown. The remaining families within the demolished Clan split, and three of them were the most powerful of all. They were considered the families of Luster, Dispassion, and Sin; or, better known as, the families of Light, Unaligned, and Dark. As expected, Luster and Sin despised each other - and they still do - while they got along with Dispassion enough not to be considered hostile.
Now, they are different from the Clan. They consider themselves dynasty, and their families are large, enough to be considered Clans. Thus, they run like a monarchy, with emperors and empresses; and, here's the twist: the she-cats become empresses first. There are combatants, huntsmen, tyros, kittens, and expectants. And now, for the higher ranks; they have, of course, a ruler, four senators, two or three emissaries, and two assassins. Their lives also differ.
There is no StarClan. There is no Heaven. Although there are gods, it is like the Greek Gods. Arathis, goddess of death, child birth, and protection; Mortonus, god of health, war, and prosperity; and Helia, goddess of plotting, secrecy, and the underworld. As you may have guessed, they believe in only an underworld.
Training takes eight moons. Four for training to hunt and fight. Then, they can decide which they wish to be, huntsman or combatant; the next four moons, their training would be harder, with a little bit of the other type of training, but more training for the type of server they wish to be. Then, at seven moons, their training is based solely on their choice, and their training is to bring out their fullest and break their former limits. After eight moons, they become who they wished to become. The dens are different from warriors' and apprentices' dens and such. These dens are for family only. It starts off with a mateless cat per den, then comes the mate, then come the kits.
Their territory is vast, and even the Scavengers, or outcasts, and Hermits, or wanderers, rarely have any need to attack the families. Now, they have moved into the jungle, and there is no threat from humans nor kittypet. Hunting season excepted, of course. They live a life of freedom from human interaction, living as wild as they were meant to be.

.&&. prologue.
"I want her. And I want her now. Keep everyone away!"
"But, sir -"
"Do not disobey an emissary!" A growl followed that command, and blue eyes glared out at the petite tom. From within the shadows, came a black tom with gray paws and tail. He was quite large, larger than average at that, and his claws were unsheathed. Anger contorted his handsome face.
Almost immediately, the little tom flinched and scurried off. "I - I will d-do what I can, s-sir!" he stuttered over his shoulder, disappearing soon after.
The anger slowly dissipated, and the tom rolled his shoulders. A sneer began to play upon his lips. "Ah, yes. That dear is clinging to my spider's thread... I shall savor her.." A dark chuckle escaped him, before he slipped off into the shadows.---------------------------------------------------------
Despite the darkness, the tom could see very clearly. But this was not the tom from the family of Dispassion. No, this was a scavenger, born an outcast. But he had his eyes on the same prize as the ebony tom.
Slinking out of his makeshift den, he swiftly padded across the lands. Soon enough, he would reach the family of Luster, and then he could charm the 'princess.' It was what he considered her, though they considered her dynasty. Ah, but who cared. He wanted her, for she caught his eye when he slipped, undetected, past a patrol.
A smile, attractive but dark, creased his lips, and his emeralds narrowed to slits. Hm, where to hunt today, and what was to be his side dish to accompany his main desire... And off through the night, he went, white pelt barely noticeable.---------------------------------------------------------
Innocence was no virtue; it was a weakness. To be innocent, was to be ignorant, and ignorance led to one's downfall. The future empress knew that well. Too well, as a matter of fact, but she cared not - at least, not in this moment.
On her large rock, and glancing over the Camp, a soft smile was on her lips. Oh, such a wondrous family; she couldn't wait to lead them, to make them the most successful of all the families. Her sister would do the same after her, but she wanted to be the one to make the family successful, first. She had a future planned.
Gray fur being caressed by the breeze, she took a deep breath, savoring the atmosphere. Then, she leaped off of her spot, swiftly making her way to her den. Ocher hues gleaming, she thought of how great it would be, to rule without a mate. She could do so much more for this family.
Purring somewhat, she entered her den and prepared to sleep.
