as numbers fall[/center]
In a land of diversity, you have many different opinions and decisions that set deer apart. Some are ruthless and merciless. Others are serene and honest. Very rarely do you have those that are confused, not defined as tranquil yet also not defined as peaceful. It is this difference among them that leads each wild creature in their own divine direction. This is where our legend has originated from and endeared it's natural effects on the deer population of the northern lands.
Making a living on lands of plentiful rewards, does and bucks thrived with a consistent amount of offspring. Families were united, lands were divided into agreeable boundaries, friends were derived. What more could possibly be desired? The discovered and exposed territories were known for their beautiful amenities. Soon enough, deer all over the coast were immigrating to those territories to provide the best quality life for their families. Some of these immigrants brought with them their cultural ancestry, annual traditions, complex personalities, and a few 'unwanted' additions. Little did the traveling deer know of these 'unwanted' additions that they possessed upon arrival. Maybe it was due to their unusually strong immunity or maybe it was just because they nonchalantly kept it a secret. But, either way this was not just a simple addition that was put aside, no. It was an epidemic that didn't take long to mend all of their lives. Instead, it was an infectious disease that was carried along from far south that developed into a highly contagious plague.
A plague holds no mercy with it's victims and the entire deer population was no exception. Some rather lucky deer have a strong enough immune system to fight off the deadly disease with only a few side effects while the other not so lucky are scarred with illness or even on the brink of their death. These infected few have the ability to spread the plague even more so than before which can not be afforded at this rate. Young and elderly deer alike have the highest risk of contracting the disease at the rate it is expanding. The deer population is deflating irrationaly in a rather short amount of time. With numbers dropping drastically, there is no room for the ill and weak bodied.
Three separate herds have been derived from the large population. Each has just one motivation to drive them in opposite directions. No longer are they just one close-knit community. They would kill just to prove their point and accomplish their proposed tasks. This plague has torn a family apart with no effort at all. With such power as it held now, no one could tell the amount of damage it could possibly create. The first group, the Belial herd, was constructed of all the ill and dying victims of the plague. They strive each and every day just to continue living and possibly overcome their sickness. Banding together to protect one another from any other current harm, they find it difficult due to the Althea herd. The Althea group has to be held back from mauling and torturing any member of the Belial her. That one desire that they possess is to murder all of the infected and disease carriers. Believing that only by staying alive, the ill population is just getting everyone sick. If they are not taken out of their misery, there will be no end to the plague. But, if the last group, the Agrona herd, can help it, they will do anything they can. Protecting the Belial herd from the dangers of the bloodthirsty Althea members is all they are motivated to provide. They believe that the weak deer are just in need of nurturing and deserve a right to live.
The ongoing perserverance of both the Belial and Agrona herds has angered the Althea herd more than ever. Now they will stop at nothing in their attempts to end this tragedy. A brutal battle has begun between the three herds where bloodshed is an average sight. It can be classified as a war, if you must and the Althea herd will not stop fighting until they get what is right for the northern lands. Even if it takes their own lives. As the numbers of plague survivors falls, memorable legends will continue to grow tall in the lands they call home.
What fate do you face in the path of this deadly plague and this brutal war ?
